Unequal Split

An unequal split divides a shared expense into different amounts for each participant.

Unlike an equal split, each person contributes a different amount based on factors such as income, usage, or personal agreements.

Examples of unequal splits

Common examples include:

  • A roommate with a larger bedroom paying more rent.
  • A person using more of a shared service contributing more.
  • A household member covering a larger share of expenses.

Why use an unequal split?

Unequal splits can create a more accurate or practical contribution system when equal payments do not reflect the situation.
